Love that lets go
The process of loving should always be a liberating process, not an entangling process.
So when the child is born, allow the child to look around, spend time with nature and spend time with himself.
What you'll need
- A stretch of unstructured time, nothing planned
- A safe spot where your child can roam or potter, outdoors if you can
- Your own urge to organise it, set aside
Method
Give your child a stretch of time with nothing planned and no screen to fill it.
Let them choose what to do, without steering or suggesting. Wander, poke at things, do nothing.
Keep your own ideas, lessons, and "why don't you…" to yourself for a while.
Over the coming weeks, notice what they do with the space when it's truly theirs, and what's hard about staying out of it.
